» Super Return For RYCO 24•7 Racing & Craig Dontas

Some familiar names will return to the grid as the 2022 Haltech V8 SuperUte Series return to the Supercars calendar.

2022 will see the second ramped up year for the all V8 dual cab series, a series that found its feet in a COVID-19 effective debut season.

A familiar couple of names will return to the grid, with RYCO 24•7 joining Utes veteran Craig Dontas as a major partner for their series campaign.

“I am happy to be back, albeit a year later. Last year was a challenge but super happy to actually make it happen in 2022. I had some super subs last year and it was great to see the category grow, and our drivers achieve success. I am in the hot seat now and really driven to do a great job for the team and partners, after being out of the seat for some time with all the covid situation. We have some fantastic support from RYCO 24•7, with all our great partners continuing, some returning from the past and some new ones, it’s a great feeling,” said Craig Dontas.

Dontas continued, “My aim is to get comfy, back up to speed and in time challenge the front runners, they have a bit of a head start with all the development of the platform, but what I have been told they are a great race car now. I can’t wait and am so happy to be back”.

Dontas will be a busy boy juggling his role as Head of Sales and Sponsorship for the Supercars Championship along with his driving commitments, but if the past is an indicator, he has done it well. We expect Craig to be back up the front and in contention as the season rolls on.

RYCO 24•7 will be joining the team for a second year as a part of a national growth and awareness strategy, RYCO Marketing Manager, Natasha Vella commented, “we are really happy to be continuing on with the V8 SuperUtes sponsorship, but more importantly we are looking forward to ‘making it happen’ with more involvement and engagement with our broader RYCO 24•7 network.”

The new season kicks off in Tasmania for the Ned Whiskey Tasmania SuperSprint March 26-27, the season will air across Network Seven and Fox Sports as a part of the Supercars telecast.

2022 will be a breakout year for the new series with more cars and teams joining in the grid.
